Cocoa Krispie Bird Nest Cookies

A simple, no bake cute Easter Bird Nest Treat that kids of all ages will love on Easter Sunday!

Chocolate Bird Nests

Two things I’ve heard before, but recently read again are stuck in my head

“Usually the hard thing in parenting is the right thing.”

And, “There are two things we should give our children; one is roots and the other is wings.”

Every day I struggle with parental doubt, and frequently ask myself, “Do I expect too much?” Or, “Am I too strict?” And, “I am doing the right thing?”

It. Was. Hard. He asked something of me and I said, “No, your choice got you into this mess, you need to find your way out of it.” I was there to empathize with him, but not to solve the problem for him.

One of the most difficult things about parenting is that I sometimes look at incidents like an item on a check list. It’s done, check it off the list, moving on, relief. But unfortunately, lessons aren’t always learned that easily or quickly. And things I thought I’d never have to deal with again, happen again, and again.

I often feel so inadequate because parenting requires so much consistency, patience, grace, forgiveness, and understanding. I close every day feeling like I am falling short.

To keep a healthy state of mind, I remind myself often that I am still a work in progress too, and that adults are really no different than kids. Actually, kids are way better. They are so much cooler than we are and they are far more forgiving! But, I too, am still making the same mistakes, and yet God is still patiently working with me.

You won’t feel like a failure when you make your kids these Cocoa Krispie Bird Nest Cookies! Kids of all ages will love these! Place into microwave for 45 seconds, remove and stir.

Return to the microwave and heat for another 45 seconds. Remove from the microwave and stir again.

Pour 6 cups Cocoa Krispies into the melted marshmallows and mix until well combined.

Distribute evenly between 12 cups in the muffin pan and press down firmly in the centers, forming a nest shape.
