Why this Recipe Works

Texas Toast Holds the Filling Without Falling Apart – It’s thickness gives you that perfect golden exterior while keeping the inside soft and creamy.

The Cream Cheese Filling Adds a Dreamy, Melty Center – Sweetened cream cheese turns each slice into a stuffed, dessert-like breakfast that feels indulgent but still easy.

Warm Spices Bring Cozy Fall Flavor – Cinnamon and nutmeg pair perfectly with pumpkin, giving every bite that classic Autumn taste.

Ingredients You’ll Need

1/2 cup Pumpkin Puree – Adds warm Fall flavor and gives the custard it’s beautiful pumpkin color.

4 Eggs (Whisked) – Creates the rich, custardy base that soaks into the bread.

2/3 cup Milk – Thins the custard just enough so it absorbs evenly.

1 tsp Vanilla – Adds sweet, cozy aroma that pairs perfectly with pumpkin.

2 tbsp Sugar – Lightly sweetens the custard and helps the French toast caramelize.

1 tsp Cinnamon – Brings warm spice and classic pumpkin spice flavor.

1/4 tsp Nutmeg – Adds depth and warmth to the custard.

14 Slices of Texas Toast Bread – Thick, sturdy slices that holds the creamy filling without falling apart.

1 (8 oz) Cream Cheese (Softened) – Forms the creamy, tangy filling inside each stuffed slice.

1 cup Powdered Sugar – Sweetens the filling and makes it smooth and fluffy.

1 tbsp Milk – Loosens the filling to a spreadable consistency.

How to Make Stuffed Pumpkin French Toast

Combine 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, 4 whisked eggs, 2/3 cup milk, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp nutmeg in a bowl. Whisk until smooth.

Heat pan/griddle to low-medium heat.

Lightly spray pan with non-stick spray.

Dunk a piece of thick-cut Texas Toast bread in the French toast mixture, covering each side. Gently shake off any excess batter in the bowl.

Place on pan on one side until golden; flip and allow the other side to golden.

Repeat with the rest of the bread until the loaf is gone.

In a small bowl, beat together 1 (8 oz) softened cream cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar, and 1 tbsp milk.

Spread desired amount of cream cheese mixture between two pieces of French toast.

Serve immediately with syrup and whipped cream!

Use Thick Cut White Bread – Such as Texas Toast. Thin bread soaks up the batter too quickly which will make the French toast soggy.

Any Milk Works – You can substitute the milk for any milk, such as soy or almond milk.

The Loaf Size Varies – The loaf you buy may not exactly have 14 slices of bread. That’s okay – just use up the loaf in proportion to the batter.

Preparing the Pan – Be sure to lightly spray the pan with non-stick spray before you place new pieces of bread on the pan.

Control the Temperature – Be sure to not let the pan get too hot. If the pan gets too hot, the French toast will get too dark and won’t cook thoroughly. You want to evenly golden both sides of the bread, so low-medium heat is best.
