Chocolate Caramel Candy Apples on Sticks!

I love Fall days when I look out the window and see vibrant colors on the trees and the sun shining brightly. It looks warm enough to go to the pool, but it’s really sweatshirt and bonfire weather!

Your family will love spending these chilly days inside making Chocolate Caramel Candied Apple Pops! They are sticky, messy, and ooey-gooey. I find it liberating to make a mess together; it’s less time consuming when I don’t have to worry about straight lines or a ‘perfect’ look. This is the perfect ‘let loose’ recipe. Your kids can go crazy dunking, decorating, and drizzling!

Why this Recipe Works

Easy to Eat Portions – Using apple pieces instead of whole apples create bite size pops that are easier to dip, serve, and enjoy at parties or gatherings.

Layered Flavors and Textures – The combination of crunchy apples, chewy caramel, smooth chocolate, and crisp candy toppings deliver a delicious contrast in every bite.

Simple Ingredients – With just a few readily available ingredients, this recipe creates an impressive dessert without requiring special equipment or advanced candy making skills.

Quick Preparation – Melting store bought caramels and chocolate keeps the process simple while still delivering classic candy apple flavor.

Ingredients You’ll Need

4 Medium Size Apples (Sliced) – The fresh, juicy base of the treat. Tart varieties like Granny Smith work especially well, but any firm apple can be used.

1 (12 oz) bag Milk Chocolate Chips – Melted and used to coat the apple pieces, adding a creamy chocolate layer.

1/2 bag Kraft Caramels (Unwrapped) – Melted to create a rich, chewy caramel coating that pairs perfectly with the apples.

2 tbsp Milk – Mixed with the caramels to help create a smooth, easy-to-dip consistency.

Candy Toppings – Optional decorations such as sprinkles, crushed cookies, chopped nuts, or candy pieces for added flavor and texture.

Small Popsicle Sticks – Inserted into the apples to create convenient, bite-sized apple pops.

How to Make Chocolate Covered Caramel Apple Pops

Lay out a large sheet of parchment paper on the countertop.

Slice 4 medium size apples thick enough to allow room for the sliced apples to sturdily sit on the popsicle stick. You will get 2 slices per apple.

Poke popsicle sticks through the sliced apples to make apple pops.

Melt 1 (12 oz) bag of milk chocolate chips. Dunk into melted chocolate over each apple slice and lay on the parchment paper.

Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle desired toppings over each chocolate covered apple slice.

Once the chocolate is firm, melt 1/2 bag of unwrapped caramels over low heat with 2 tbsp milk. Frequently stir. Generously drizzle over the top of the apple pops.

Let harden before removing from the parchment paper.

Use Small to Medium Size Apples – Don’t use apples that are too big. They are too large to dunk into the chocolate and handle. Keep the apple size manageable.

Dry Apples Thoroughly – Any moisture can prevent the caramel and chocolate from sticking properly.

Apple Serving Size – Depending on the size of the apple, you will likely only get 2 slices per apple because of the core and the ends of the apple.

Gently Melt the Caramel – Make sure to melt the caramel on low heat and stir frequently. If you heat it to fast or too hot it will burn.

Add Toppings Immediately – Sprinkle on the toppings right away so they adhere to the chocolate while its wet.
