Easy Valentine’s Day Puppy Chow Recipe
I really want to know when a recipe of mine doesn’t turn out for someone. I want to know if I have made a mistake in the recipe! I truly appreciate when I am told, because making a typo in the recipe is really easy to do. If one person had trouble with it, it’s possible that more will and I want to prevent that.
Sometimes it has proven to be my mistake and other times it’s what I call ‘user error.’ Either way, it helps both of us!
I am sending her a batch of this Valentine Puppy Chow as a thank you for helping me! If you are wanting to spread the love this Valentine’s Day, you could also make Cupid’s Crunch Chex Mix or Valentine Peanut Butter Cookie Cups !

What You’ll Need
6 cups Chex Cereal
3/4 cup Strawberry Cake Mix
3/4 cup Powdered Sugar
1 cup Red Candy Melts
1 cup White Candy Melts
1 cup Valentine M&M’s
2 tbsp Valentine Sprinkles

How to Make Valentine’s Day Puppy Chow
Divide Chex cereal between 2 medium size bowls, 3 cups in each bowl.
In a separate bowl, combine 3/4 cup strawberry cake mix (dry powder, not prepared batter) and 3/4 cup powdered sugar.
In a small microwave safe bowl, microwave 1 cup red candy melts 30 seconds at a time, then remove to stir. Repeat until the chocolate is completely melted.
Pour over one of the bowls of Chex cereal and stir until the cereal is covered in red melted chocolate.
Add 3/4 cup of the strawberry cake mixture to a gallon zip lock bag along with the coated cereal.
Seal the bag and shake until the cereal is coated in the mixture. Pour onto parchment paper and allow to cool.
Repeat the process for the white candy melts.
In a small microwave safe bowl, microwave 1 cup white candy melts 30 seconds at a time, then remove to stir. Repeat until the chocolate is completely melted.
Pour over remaining bowl of Chex cereal and stir until the cereal is covered in white melted chocolate.
Add the remaining 3/4 cup strawberry cake mixture to a gallon zip lock bag along with the coated cereal.
Seal the bag and shake until the cereal is coated in the mixture. Pour onto parchment paper and allow to cool.
Once both mixtures have cooled, combine together in a large bowl along with 1 cup Valentine M&M’s and 2 tbsp Valentine sprinkles.
