French Chocolate Silk Pie Recipe

I recently encountered a Pinterest outage. It was linked to an Amazon Web Service outage. I have always heavily relied on Pinterest. To you, it’s a place where you go to get inspiration, ideas, and make plans for upcoming events or holidays.

For me, it’s a platform to promote my recipe links with a great deal of strategy, patience, keyword research, scheduling, and testing.

I will never forget the day Pinterest emailed little ‘ole me to offer a consultation by webinar. I was overjoyed! I was able to connect with them in a way most people aren’t able to. (Pinterest is similar to Google – you can’t just call them on the phone with your questions. It always takes a lot of time and research on my own in place of traditional customer service.) It was such a productive session, I really felt like Pinterest cares about both sides of the coin. They want to make sure bloggers are successful and can deliver the content their visitors are looking for – they want everyone to win!

Speaking of which, everyone will love this French Silk Pie! If you are looking for more pie recipes, I think you’d love No Bake Snickers Pie , No Bake Coconut Cream Pie , Fluffernutter Pie , Oreo Dirt Pie , or Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie , too!

What You’ll Need for the Pie

1 Oreo Crust

1 1/3 cups Sugar

4 Eggs

8 oz Baking Chocolate, Melted

2 tsp Vanilla

10 tbsp Butter, Softened

1 1/3 cups Heavy Cream

4 tsp Powdered Sugar

And the Topping

1 cup Heavy Cream

2 tbsp Powdered Sugar

1 tsp Vanilla

How to Make French Silk Pie

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together 1 1/3 cups sugar and 4 eggs.

Whisk constantly until the mixture reaches 160 degrees and coats the back of a metal spoon.

Remove from heat and stir in 8 oz melted baking chocolate and 2 tsp vanilla until smooth.

Set aside and cool until the mixture reaches 75 degrees, stirring occasionally.

Beat 10 tbsp softened butter in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Gradually add in the cooled chocolate mixture, then beat on high speed for about 5 minutes, until light and fluffy.

In a separate small bowl, beat 1 1/3 cups heavy cream until it begins to thicken. Add in 4 tsp powdered sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. Fold into the chocolate mixture.

Transfer the mixture to the Oreo pie crust. The pie will be tall and full with the filling.

Chill in the refrigerator until firm.

Once firm, beat together 1 cup heavy cream, 2 tbsp powdered sugar, and 1 tsp vanilla until it begins to thicken and stiff peaks form.

Spread over the top of the pie.
