A soft and chewy thick cookie bar packed with chocolate chips and M&M’s for 4th of July!

Red, White & Blue M&M Cookie Bars

A friend of mine came to town for Memorial Day, so naturally I had to make her family some of these 4th of July M&M Cookie Bars!

There is so much that I love about the 4th of July! I just have to have the best spread for grilling or a picnic. Some of my favorites are Veggie Pizza , Blueberry Pretzel Salad , Beer Dip , and Strawberry Fluff Salad! And for a splash of red, white, and blue I like keeping it easy with 4th of July Ice Cream Sandwiches!

These cookie bars are so easy to make for any holiday! All you have to do is swap out the M&M’s, like in these Valentine M&M Cookie Bars or Christmas M&M Cookie Bars!

What You’ll Need

2 cups + 2 tbsp Flour

1/2 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp Baking Soda

3/4 cup Butter, Melted

1 cup Brown Sugar

1/2 cup Sugar

1 Egg

1 Egg Yolk

2 tsp Vanilla

1 cup Chocolate Chips

1 cup Red, White & Blue M&M’s

How to Make 4th of July M&M Cookie Bars

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13 metal pan with non-stick spray and set aside.

In a small bowl, whisk together 2 cups + 2 tbsp flour, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp baking soda together.

In a separate medium bowl, beat together 3/4 cup melted butter, 1 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 cup sugar until well combined. Add in 1 egg, 1 egg yolk, and 2 tsp vanilla and mix.

Fold in dry ingredients. When half-way combined, add in 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup Easter M&M’s. Continue to fold until just combined.

Press dough down evenly into the pan. Bake for 23 minutes.

Right after removing from the oven, press in additional chocolate chips and M&M’s gently into the top of the cookie bars.
