Apple Brownies with Maple Glaze

Packed with warm cinnamon, brown sugar, maple syrup, and fresh apples in every homemade brownie bite!

Homemade Apple Brownies

I was pleasantly surprised at how packed they are with Fall flavor, and they are everything you’d expect in a moist, chewy brownie!

If you love baking with apples in the Fall, I highly recommend making a Apple Fritter Cinnamon Roll Bake , The Best Apple Pie , Apple Dumplings with Crescent Rolls , Easy Apple Crisp , or Apple Dapple Cake , too!

What You’ll Need for the Apples

2 1/2 cups Apples, Peeled & Diced

1/4 cup Sugar

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

The Brownies

2 1/4 cups Flour

1 tsp Baking Powder

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar

1 cup Butter, Melted

1 tsp Vanilla

1/2 tsp Maple Syrup

2 Eggs

And the Maple Glaze

3 tbsp Butter

1/3 cup Maple Syrup

1/8 tsp Cinnamon

1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar

How to Make Apple Brownies with Maple Glaze

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9 x 13 pan with non-stick spray and set aside.

Peel, core, and dice enough apples to equal 2 1/2 cups.

Add to a skillet over medium heat with 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring often. The apples should be soft, but hold their shape.

Remove from heat and let cool.

To make the brownie batter, whisk together 2 1/4 cups flour, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon in a small bowl.

In a large bowl, beat together 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, 1 cup melted butter, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1/2 tsp maple syrup. Add in 2 eggs and beat until well combined.

Combine the dry ingredients into the wet and mix until well combined.

Drain water from the apples, then fold into the brownie batter.

Spread evenly into prepared pan.

Bake for 25 minutes, or until light golden brown.

Remove from oven and let cool.

Once cooled, make the frosting by adding 3 tbsp butter, 1/3 cup maple syrup, and 1/8 tsp cinnamon to a sauce pan. Cook until the butter is just melted and the ingredients are well combined. The mixture should start to lightly bubble around the edges. Remove from heat.

Stir in 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar and whisk until well combined. If the frosting is too thick to spread, add a little more maple syrup to thin.

Spread frosting over the brownies evenly.
